Unite for Sight April 17-18, 2010

Unite For Sight® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers communities worldwide to improve eye health and eliminate preventable blindness. Unite For Sight has trained 5,200 volunteers who work in their local communities and abroad with local eye clinics to provide eye health programs for those without previous access. PAIN BEFORE HEALING

On a medical mission trip last year to a jungle village, I assisted an ophthalmologist in helping blind people from dense cataracts recover their sight with the aid of cataract surgery and the implantation of an intraocular lens. I have observed this surgery many times in the United States. But performing this procedure is much different needless to say in a jungle mission compound hospital.
